Thank achesley. It had been many years for me also and I was quite blown away. Then I was rewarded with a photo on top of it.

Where was the shot taken from?

I managed sort of a capture from Corolla in OBX, but it was not a dark enough area when I tried last year.

That shot was down a gravel Rd.about 20mi from Victoria, Tx. Standing under the Milky Way is like being under something alive. I could feel it's pulse. It is truly alive with extreme energy. It makes a person feel very small. People should experience these things in life and besides a bit of time and gasoline. It is truly the best free show around around

I am on the East Coast, difficult to get to some dark skies for me. You are lucky!
