Lightroom Classic: White Balance

I’m at the beginning of the learning curve on Lightroom Classic and would be grateful for some guidance. In adjusting the white balance to increase the warmth of the subject’s face, her beautiful white teeth also turned “warm” or yellowish. How can I keep the increased warmth of the face, but turn down the temperature of her teeth to keep them white? Ther must be a local paintbrush type tool somewhere?

I can’t seem to find a reference either in Scott Kelby’s or the Northrup’s Lightroom books. Would appreciate your help.

Many thanks,
BjW

Try the "Adjustment Brush" on the teeth.

When using the adjustment brush there is a list of functions, one of which is teeth whitening. Select it and enlarge the area of the photo where you want to whiten the teeth and brush over them.

Or you can use an adjustment brush and set the saturation lower to "purify" the teeth. You can always adjust the % of saturation and opacity to get it exactly the way you want it to be.

...when you go into an adjustment brush and select one of the options listed (i.e. "Teeth Whitening") you'll find the sliders in view that LR has cranked to the settings necessary to produce the effect. Since discovering this, I almost always modify what LR wants to give me. This produces a "custom" brush (which you can title and save as a new listing if you want). In the case of teeth I think what LR suggests is a bit much, so play with the sliders until I see what I like...easy and fast! YMMV of course.

Yes, I agree. I always have to tone down the whitening from what Lr chooses. The whitening can be easily overdone and not look realistic.
