I am curious to know if others have done what I am about to do. I read it pays to have a lens calibrated to the camera, as each starts life as essentially (and hopefully) well calibrated as product-run items and perform better when married, so to speak. In as much as this was a major (for me) expenditure, I am looking to get the best results possible. I am sending my Tammy back to NY, where they will do so and the only cost to me is shipping. I also read somewhere that they can "tailor" the adjustment to which end of the focal range is most used. Anyone know about any of this? Thanks.

Been covered a thousand times. Try the search box.
Thanks. What term would you use that I might not have, in my several searches, over the last couple of hours?
Thank you very much! I am on it.
Have you tested the lens?
Does it look soft to you?
Don't go off calibrating a lens that doesn't need it....

I can’t say I have noticed anything amiss but it was my understanding that this type of calibration can add a bit more sharpness to the lens at the 600 end - where I use it most. Some reviewers have cited a softness at the widest end, but I have plenty of great glass on that end.
I was out shooting with a friend. I have a Nikon he has a Canon. We both had the same issue where the lens would not autofocus.
We are fortunate to live on Long Island, so we brought the lenses to Tamron. They put in new motors and updated the software on the lens, at no charge to us. The lens is working great now.
When I had my Tammy, I sent it to be calibrated to my D7100 at 600mm. What a difference! Before I sold it, I tested it against my new 200-500...it held up pretty well despite the fact that it was calibrated to 600mm. I think you will be pleased. Good Luck!
Good morning. Can anyone advise if Tamron can calibrate this lens for the matched 1.4 Tele extender as well. Also, can one attempt this at home with the device supplied by Tamron ( Whose name escapes me sitting at this red light).

I thought this lens worked with the Tap-In so you could calibrate and customize at home. Does yours not use the Tap-In?

Is your lens the newer G2 series or the older version ?? I recently purchased the newer G2 version of the 150-600 but have not had much time to really work with it.
I use the Tammy 150-600 G2. Calibrating at 600mm may cause the shorter focal points to be soft.

Which is why you use the TAP-in. With that you can calibrate a different focal lengths and distances.
