Had the opportunity to go here with a good friend. We had so much fun. It was warmer than it looks and the snow was beautiful.

I grew up not 10 minutes from Planting Fields Arboretum. It was a favorite intermediate destination for my biking. It is beautiful no matter what time of year.

No matter what time of year Planting Fields has something to offer. Today the house was decorated and Santa in residence. Thanks for looking and the kind comment.

Coe Hall- Not bad for a summer place. All the old "Gold Coast" mansions were for the most part summer "cottages". dating back to the Gilded Age, around the early 1900's. Very few remain, some however are state parks like Planting Fields. The biggest one of all, Oheka is a castle and is now a catering hall and wedding facility as well as a 5 star ( outrageously expensive) restaurant and hotel. Outstandingn food, as well as a location for a number of TV shows. A great photo location. (you may need the permission of the mamagement)

I got Graham to speech and school. Picking him up soon. The snow was again "pretty", but I'm starting my spring countdown anyway.

Thanks Jaymatt for looking and the kind words. We took quite a few inside the greenhouses too. It's really a beautiful place to take pictures. It gives one a sense of peace in an otherwise chaotic environment here on Long Island.

LOL... I'll count with you!! It was horrible driving in it this morning and then it started coming down hard again... thankfully it stopped before I leave!

You might be interested to know that Oheka offers photo shoots. Google Oheka for the details. It's a spactaular location. Right off Jericho Tpke a mile or 2 east of 110. It's what I call a holy $hit location. When you see it your first words will,be Holy $hit. It was built on the highest point on Long Island. By Otto Herman Kahn--hense the name.
