I have been in photography in one way or another since about 1950 I was the high school photographer. Right after that I joined the Navy and studied photography there. Those skills helped pay my way through undergraduate school.

I suppose I have used almost every brand of camera available, from Kodak Brownie to Hasselblad. My current stable consists of Sony a900 and a330 - with Zeiss glass - and a Pentax 645D.

Thank you for asking about my favorite cameras. I'm happy you didn't ask about the "best" cameras.

Currently, my two favorite cameras are the Sony a900 and the Pentax 645D. I decided to buy Sony cameras a few years ago, when they started offering Carl Zeiss lenses for the Alpha series. Sony also makes T series lenses. It was from Minolta G stock that Leica once select ed their Leica R lenses.

I like the a900 because it has a full frame, high megapixel sensor.

I very much like the Pentax 645D. Years ago I replaced all of my Hasselblad gear with Sony 645N cameras and lenses. I did this because Hasselblad did not then offer AF cameras or lenses and I was beginning to have some portraiture troubles with MF.

With that move I accumulated several 645 lenses that will migrate to the 645D.

I'm sorry: I meant to say that Sony also manufactures G series lenses.
