Those of you who know my back history will understand that my most terrifying moments were when my ex-wife would say something to the effect of, “Oh, by the way, my nephew (niece, cousin, nephew’s cousin, niece’s cousin, best friend in grade school, best friend in high school, best friend during first marriage, ad nauseam) is getting married in a few weeks and we’ve been invited; they thought maybe you could take some pictures.” To which I usually responded, “Oh? How far along is the bride and will there be a shotgun?”

I have some pictures of scenes in Vermont for sale in a local holiday craft/artist shop (some framed and some just matted). I have been told that there is no need to buy one of my pictures because each one has a card that says where it was shot, and they "can just go there with their cell phone and get the same picture". I have also heard the "you must have a really nice camera to get those pictures" comment. I will say, however, that I am grateful to those that do buy my work, even if they comment on how nice my camera must be :)
Such is life :)
I'm just a keen amateur , took some photos of our neighbours kids at a party.
The mum came to see me and said that she had shown the photos to a friend and they would like to know what camera I used.
My answer was almost polite.

On an Alaskan cruise, I noticed a sun halo in the thick fog as we sailed into Glacier Bay. Fellow Passenger asked me if I had a camera that, "could shoot through the fog."
Yes, but you have to wear your x-ray glasses to compose the photo!

Sounds like a Chris T question to me...
For real! Let's not go there..............
I won an award in a show held by the art guild. After the presentations I spoke to one of the members who asked what kind of camera I used. Soon after I was doing a festival held near the guild. The same lady came into my booth and showed me her new camera (same as mine), and said "Now show me what button to push to make my pictures look like yours!" I told her to just push them all and see what happens.
While setting up a view camera at the overlook at The Grand Canyon Lodge to take a photograph of The Grand Canyon one of the many people who were standing there said, "Stand back, folks. Give him room. He knows what he's doing".

What's the most annoying thing you guys have ever heard about yourself as a photographer? What grinds your gears?
The thing that annoys me the most must be "Tomas can take photos, he has an expensive camera".
Most of the public are not educated about photography....and photographers and their special cameras. lol.
I have that same photo, than they whip out their phone that they took it with to show me

If they get really riled up, I may even open my big bag and show 'em my other bodies and lenses...
