#2 Verticular. (I wonder if anyone will correct my spelling?)

Vertical. Couldn't resist - I used to do a lot of proof reading.

i have two photos of a friend of mine and her dog. I would like to print an 8 x 10 and frame it for her for Christmas but can't decide between the two. One has both their eyes closed and the other open. Which do you recommend? Thank you in advance.

Both in a double frame....Rich

Cropped shot is very good. I wouldn't worry about the guard fail.

2 areas to get out of your photo the guard rail and the puddle of water.

I like #2 for both the dog and your friend. I think it shows more action and tells more of a story. Photo shopping and cropping would be good too as others mentioned.

Everyone, thanks so much for all the help. I have printed out all the examples given and decided to give them all to her. Let her choose which she likes. She does have family. I truly don't understand how the guardrail could disappear like it never was, but I will add it to my list of those little wonderful things that happen in this life. Merry Christmas to you all. Barbara

The magic of Post Processing at your fingertips helped to mask the guardrail and the puddles.

If I could suggest that you try a few different colored acid free mats from your local craft or photography store, even one with an oval opening might work.

I like #2. Both are smiling and facing in the same direction. Don Z
