Shot with a circular polarizer and 1/4 CTO gel on the flash.
I think I managed to get a natural looking shot.

Very nice! I never thought to use a CTO(color tempature orange) gel on my flash outside. Makes sense though sense it warms up the color. May I ask what white balance setting were you using? Auto, cloudy, daylight, flash?

Thanks for posting

I shoot RAW, so I usually leave WB on auto and instead fix it up in post processing.

I set WB in camera only when I'm shooting indoors with bounced flash with walls/ceilings/curtains that have distinct bright colors. Like bright red.

In a situation like that, it helps to use custom WB (shot through a white sheet of paper) so that in-camera histogram represents the end result more or less accurately. Otherwise, one of the channels would run off and would look clipped most of the time, when it really isn't.

Yup, it's a nice shot, but I would have had her take off the sunglasses. Effectively, they hide a third of her face. When you see the eyes, you feel a bit closer to the subject.

Very well exposed indeed. The fill flash effect is invisible.
