Thanks for explaining why Tom called you an idiot. I try pretty hard not to do that, but sometimes enough is enough. And Feinstein could have just as easily been a Republican. Today she probably has to much integrity for the current republican party. You have drifted so far to the right that everything looks left to you.

Thom, I have always considered Sen. Feinstein a liberal. I sometimes strongly agreed with her and sometimes strongly disagreed. On balance, I think she has integrity but have always considered a staunch and often admirable Senator for the Democrats.

Just my two cents (and here I promised myself to stop reading and posting in the Attic - that lasted about 3 hours!)

Happy holidays to all

The point is, thom, that she is NOT a republican. She is a staunch Democrat. How do you miss that point? Most of you here in The Attic are saying Trump is guilty (a few are saying let's wait and see, which is my goal as well) yet here is a long time strong Democrat saying, so far there is no evidence against Trump. That is the only point I made. Then you go on with the insults again. You asked for information and I gave it to you. Yet you insult me. WTF thom. Have you no idea of ethics whatsoever?

I see. Apparently to Liberals anything from the Right is a lie and anything from the Left is the absolute truth.

Dennis, this was revelatory. At first I doubted what I was reading, I had never heard of “The Hill”. So I did a little more research and the rating organization named “AllSides” rates The Hill as “center”; left, not right.

As a benchmark I checked What rating NPR received from “AllSides”. It rated NPR is center as well and basically said both publications strive to be non-partisan.

I am truly shocked by the revelations in this article and more clearly understand why you and many others dislike her so intensely. I disliked Hiliary for a number of other reasons but these findings are major concerns to me.

For what it’s worth I still despise Trump but now hold them as equally contemptible... just for different but equally nauseating reasons.

Thanks for the research and post.

Happy holidays.

Is this some type of a trick?

I don't like many of the things Trump does such as his tweeting and the way he talks when he should simply keep his mouth shut and let the process (of whatever is going on) happen. But I do like that the economy is on the upswing after so many years when it was not. I like that my 401K is going up. I like that fewer people are on welfare. You will no doubt remember Nancy Pelosi telling us that more people on welfare is good as money is being spent. For Conservatives more people having jobs is the goal as they are spending their own earned money rather than my money as a taxpayer. Of course Liberals look at it differently and want as many people on the plantation as possible. I like that unemployment numbers are down, way down as more people are finding jobs. This is what Trump has been doing in just one year. So while I don't care for some of that he does/is personally I will happily accept him going right on making America great.

Let me ask how you could have possibly missed all of Hillary's corruption through the years? She has not changed one bit since she was the First Lady.

Have a Merry Christmas,

Dennis

Huh? My post was not a trick. The market is responding to Trump's promises, the economy is much slower to react and has been recovering for several years. I do not agree with your representation of liberals and your reference to "being on the plantation" makes me wonder what you really meant. I said I disliked Hiliary and that I voted for neither of them. Several times in other threads I said I wrote in a Romney / Huntsman ticket and was promptly assailed for being a phony conservative, a RINO etc. This place has too much anger to be useful.

For what it's worth,I do NOT consider Trump a conservative; I consider him a poser. I hope I'm wrong but I see no evidence that he is anything but hot air saying whatever he believes his core supporters want to hear. I stand by my original statement - I despise both of them for different but equally nauseating reasons.

Finally, I find your tone pretty aggressive towards someone who openly thanked you for posting a revealing and apparently factual article. Just what is it you hope to achieve here... find new punching bags?

This exchange is exactly why I promised myself to leave the Attic, it is so polarized that at times it devolves into being little more than a monkey feces fight. It's tiresome. When I wished you Happy Holidays in my earlier post I had hoped to bring a calmer tone to the dialogues here... including myself. It's just too mean spirited and intransigent. And the one time I see something eye opening and compliment the poster, he turns it another brick throwing contest! Sheesh.... I gotta find a another interest board!

First: Good luck with withdrawing from the attic. I think your post pretty much indicates that you aren't a liberal. There is no rule that says you should be, but it means your perspective will usually be different than mine. She is likely facing a primary this time around because she is quite conservative. She is especially conservative for this part of the country. If she is primaried I'm not sure which way I will vote. I don't know anything about the person who says they are going to run. Now Barbara Boxer was/is a liberal. I'm very impressed with Kamala Harris, who replaced Boxer. I hope that you realize that, based on posts you have made, many on this forum will call you liberal. Liberal and conservative are quite imprecise terms.

Dennis,
I don't know if you get something out of attacking me, but I get no joy from fighting with you. You see things very one sided. You despise anyone who believes different than you. You consider yourself quite informed, but you aren't. I didn't think I had insulted you, but I guess I did. You don't bring out the best in people. You also insult and degrade on a regular basis. You despise anyone who doesn't explain things in a way you understand. Believe me, that can be very difficult.

They clearly are imprecise terms and I vote on issues not on party. It's quite possible on one hand that I will appear liberal (for instance, unrestricted access to abortion but I find partial birth abortion a despicable act) other times I am conservative (reducing the deficit is my number one concern for it does nothing more than burden our future generations with a debt that soon will reach an unsustainable level and their future ruined before it starts).

I'm from Massachusetts, I disliked Ted Kennedy on personal grounds but often felt he cared about the plight of people. I support Elizabeth Warren for the same reasons. I voted for Bill Weld and Charlie Baker, both very effective Republican governors. (It will come as a shock to many here but good old liberal Massachusetts has given Charlie Baker the highest approval rating for all governors for the past 3 years. The last time I checked it was 81% approval). I thought the interim period governor, a Democrat named Duval Patrick was a complete and utter failure... an incompetent.

Now I live in North Carolina where the Republicans have a veto proof majority and their abuse of their power is disgusting. It is so damned frustrating to feel so many politicians care only for their big money donors and not for the people they supposedly serve. Time for me to step off my soapbox.

Sorry. My, Is this a trick, was meant to be a good natured joke after the recent shitstorm I received from Twardlow, thom and others. Nothing against you and I thought you would see it as exactly as I meant it to be. The rest of your post I will disregard as hopefully I have explained my position and reason.

I wished you a Merry Christmas as well. If I had been aggressive to you I doubt I would have done that. Possibly you missed that point.

Call the economy what you like but growth at 3% and probably climbing from what I have read seems more than just Trump's promises. Being on the plantation is a long standing comment for Liberals who want to keep black people under their voting thumb by keeping them on welfare. You didn't say but you may consider it racist in nature but the black woman I first heard it from, Star Parker, thought the Democratic Party was the racists for not wanting black people to get jobs and get, "off the plantation".

Once again, have a Merry Christmas,

Dennis

Denny, I thought I told you not to address me, nor would I address you. I think you're a little touched or have the early signs of dementia. You are one of these old coots who think Hillary is evil incarnate and hold Trump up to god like level...in other words, a crackpot. I'm not interested in what you have to say nor will I take my time to look it up.

thom how am I attacking you? I don't despise anyone at all, especially on this forum. Absolutely nobody. Again, you bring up my understanding of things yet I have asked you and others specific questions. In reply I am greeted with comments that I am an idiot, can't understand anything etc. while you on the Left refuse to answer basic questions I have asked. That means you included as well. You asked me for proof of what Diane Feinstein said. I provided that proof to you and you put me down for it. Who the hell is one sided here, who is hard to get along with, who is degrading who? Maybe you need to do a bit of soul searching and come up with some answers for your own conduct.

Well he is a Billionaire, his children are all in business for themselves or are doing well in the Trump empire. I have never seen their names on a police blotter or involved with drinking or drugs. All are well behaved and seem to be exemplary people. It is only since Trump ran for and won the Presidency that he has been called a womanizer, racist, misogynist and groper. Before that he received awards for helping others. Call him what you will but he sure isn't stupid. He may be a bit rough around the edges but he sure is doing his best as the POTUS even though those on the Left do not like his methods.
