These were made by vandals of another era... They were noticed at the time.
The true protests usually lie elsewhere in churches (and other monuments). They hide in plain sight but are overlooked. Find them and have fun doing so. Grave stones are also witness of... Let's just say miss-giving toward the deceased. I once found one that had a disguised insult toward the still living...
The father/Grandfather of this pair must have been a bad 'un for his unkindness to be mentioned on these gravestone inside the church.

Nice ones Remus. I'm surprised they had the nerve to carry out defacements of a church..i would have thought the threat of a dire punishment would deter the bravest of souls!
