Greetings Hogs,

I am an advanced amateur who has been taking pictures with Nikons for over 50 years. Since shifting to digital (and retiring) I have focused more on improving my capabilities. I now use a Nikon D-800 with many Nikon lenses. My biggest issue right now is that for years I have been using Capture NX2 to process my RAW pictures. Somehow, that program has seemed to be no longer supported and my copy seems to have last quite a few important functions. I am trying to shift to the Lightroom CC and Photoshop pay-by-the-month program which I know opens up a much more capable system. However, despite pretty good tutorials, I am finding the transition to be difficult. Right now my biggest issue is that with Capture, to file processed pictures, all I had to do was go to "Save As" and click on some options. Now, it seems, I have to create a file name for each new picture and somehow export it to another file on my computer. Quite possibly, I am missing something.

Also I am confused that I now have icons for both Lightroom and Lightroom CC - which one should I use?

Thank you in advance.

Welcome,

To UHH. My suggestion is to use Lightroom as your catalog filing system and make minor adjustments with it. I use a folder for each download with a name and date. I also keep my Lightroom catalog on a external hard drive that I back up to another.

Use Photoshop for major stuff.
