I am a PC user. My friend has some neat water fowl pix, but the only way he knows how to send them to me is as embedded pix within the email... which is not useful for what we want to do.

He is using an iMac OSX system and does not know how to send the pix as attachments so I can use them. Can any iMac user give me a list of steps I can forward to him? Thanks.

When he sends them click "Send Windows friendly attachments", or have him send them from Gmail.
I have several Macs and PCs, there is no problem. You can also just click and save out of the email. It all works, you just have to get them different ways sometimes.

. . . or compress the file:
1. Control-click (right-click) the file
2. Choose "Compress . . . " This will make a ZIP file.
3. Attach the ZIP file to the email.

I have an IMAC and it is the easiest of all the computers that I have ever owned to send attachments. In IPHOTO look for the share button. then click e-mail. It will open a window to send and all you do is add the address.

Similar if you are using Aperture. Just find the share button and send the attachment.

I should note that you must double click on the pic that you want to send.

Even if an image is embedded in a message, you still should be able to right click on the image, left click on copy, then paste into MS Paint or some other imaging or graphics tool. Then save the image to whatever format you want, BMP, JPG, PNG, etc.

That's what Bigdaver said, too. Duh, I was making this much harder that it had to be. Brain freezers are NOT supposed to last overnight! This one did, but thanks to friendlies here on UHH, I got my answer and Scott who lives in Santa Cruz got his.

"Puter" happiness abounds once again here in south central PA where we will definitely FRY again today and tomorrow!

Simple no need to zip the picture, in the mac mail app. they would just click on new message, then click on attach it will open an other window for them to chose the picture which then they click on the picture and it will attach it to the message.
