Some of you looked and commented kindly on my post taken at Currumbin Sanctuary, here where I live.

I dug up a few more of my time volunteering there a few years ago, and a couple that I took a still image from my Dad's movie of the 1950's. (He had a 16mm movie camera and I have some wonderful footage that I transferred to DVD) Those photos are dreadful quality, won't win any prizes, but I'm putting them in for a look anyway.

I was about 6 here I guess.

Feeding the eels. An ibis trying to get a look in..risky with those razor sharp teeth of the eels. I used to bring them in by stamping my foot near the water's edge. They could feel the vibrations.

Fun series. Looks like you took a young love, with the exception of the Daisy, into a life long career. I commend you on that.

Cool ones, Jude. I used to give the pigeons a hard time with my Daisy, but I don't think I ever actually hit one, lol. Childhood memories are precious, aren't they?

A fun set, thanks for sharing! You certainly resemble your mother. You could be twins! And, do you work at the reserve? (The name tag, official shirt and radio are my clues.).

Interesting series. How come there are dingos at the sanctuary? I thought they only existed on Fraser Island.

https://vimeo.com/106544408 I hope this works, tells the story of Phyllis, a boundary rider on the dingo fence in the outback.

There are around 200,000 dingoes throughout Australia, there's a dingo fence that runs for 3,500 miles, to keep sheep (mainly), safe.

Thanks..I grew up in the country with lots of animals, love them. The Daisy, well.. I aimed straight one day and shot a chook (sorry, chicken that is), and that was the end of the Daisy air rifle for me.

You are welcome, and yes I am often told I look like my mum, though she's been gone now for 12 years. I was a volunteer at the Currumbin Sanctuary, for a year. It was fun, but we go away too much camping and I was always saying I couldn't do my shift so I stopped.
