On the way up a rib out of no-trail Lillian Creek Valley near Lillian Ridge / Obstruction Point, Olympic National Park.
I had broken out of the timber into supablpine terrain about 15 minutes prior.
It was a hot day, and the 4000 foot climb out of the depths of the valley with my regular hiking gear and the heavy camera and tripod, AND a couple of quarts of water, made for a temporary loss of about 2-3 pounds of body weight.
A LOT of sweat that day! :-)
Still trying to "dial in" my skill at camera movements...thus a bit of softness in the foreground. I'll get it right soon.

I like how the foreground is in shadow and the stump leads you right out into that sunlight. A powerful and very impressive landscape photograph.

Lovely landscape with strong composition!
Nicely composition. The old fallen tree in the foreground does it for me.
That's an awesome shot. And it appears that your focusing was dead-on. It's as though the stump is opening its hands and saying, "ta da!"
If the DOF could have been better, it's not obvious.
