"the folder could not be found" Lightroom 5

Hi, we just moved and had the computer turned off for a short time. I don't think this problem has to do with the pc being turned off. I just uploaded some images, and it says "the folder could not be found." I can see them in the library and the develop module, but it does not allow me to do any editing at all in the develop module. I have found this same warning in other folders, also.
I really need to edit these asap and could use some help.
Thanks!

You might need to reenter your software license.

Ive had this before...dont know if its the same problem but if you delete the original photos from the original folder, thinking that you no longer need them because theyre now in Lightroom...this will happen.I found the solution was to make smart previews of all the photos upon import into lightroom. You dont need the original photos if you do this and they will just open in lightrooms library.

When it says the folder could not be found, does it offer any way for you to look for it? Like it does when it tells you a photo is missing?

Did you look in the master folder on your hard drive to see if that folder is in there? If it is, then you have the option to import it into LR. If, as someone else suggested, you made any changes from within the folder on your hard drive rather than from within LR, this will break the link between those images and the LR Catalog. So you need to re-establish that link.

When you imported the images, did you do it directly into your LR photos folder [Folders Module], or were they left in "Previous Import", which also puts them in the "All Photographs" heading of the LR Catalog module. If they are in either one of these headings, you may not have put them into the Folders module.

A lot depends on how you have organized your LR Catalog, and on how you treat photos when importing them. Do a little looking around and see if you can see where the problem occurred.

Hope this helps.

Check all of your connections to ensure everything is plugged in as it should be.

When you moved, I assume you shut down your computer and disassembled any peripherals such as external storage, then set it back up after moving.

Probably you connected something differently or shutting down, disassembling, reassembling the computer caused it to automatically re-assign drive letters. For whatever reason, Lightroom is still looking for the folder in the old location, but it's been "moved" and LR can't find it along the previous path. LR "grays out" and puts a question mark next to folders that it had access to previously, but can no longer find.

Fixing it is easy, so long as you know the new location of the folder. In the Library module, right-click on the lost folder and a menu will pop up. One of the choices will be to "locate folder". Click on that and another box will open showing your entire computer system, which you can use point LR to the new location of the folder.

If you don't know where the folder is now, try using your computer's system search to find it.

Are your photos/images on an external drive? It is likely that the drive letter is different from when you imported them! You can assign the same drive letter as you had before and it will then not give you the error message.
