Lizard Head Peak Co.
Located on the border of Dolores and San Miguel counties, Colorado, This is the remnant of what was meant to be a 3 image pano 3 years ago. I don't know what happened as the three images all show the same shutter speed etc. The 2nd frame though has UGLY movement. Fortunately this was before I started using a longer lens in the vertical position and was able to salvage an image.
Beautiful shot.... been across that pass many times.

We were driving from Messa Verde NP, where we stayed for 2 nights, to Ouray (via route 145, I think) for another stay for a few nights before heading down to Santa Fe. It was part of our 2000 vacation.

That is an outrageously beautiful route. Who ever planned it for you did a great job.

It was our first major visit to the USA (we, my wfe and 11 year old son, had a 5 day stop over in Los Angeles in 1999 (Disneyland, San Diego, Universal studios etc) and we had 3 weeks to drive from San Francisco to Denver via national parks in California, Utah, Arizona and Colorado. Also it was in the fall.
After this vacation, my wife said "I don't know why an American would want to go anywhere else in the world except possibly to chase history".
I did all the planning (we did like to travel).
