What a difference 24 hours can make

This is what photography is all about, in a certain manner and also in my mind.


Firstly, that log there is there, I did not layer it.

Now There is a snowline there and that is where the sort of cliff is, well a very angular drop and below that if you look real closely you will see roofs on houses. The blue you see there is not the sky, it is the St-Lawrence River and look at the top of the photo, in the middle you will see a tiny bit of the shore on the other side. Between the river and the snowline you will see a yellowish patch. That is the shore and upon seeing that I know that the tide is low. Finally I played a bit with b/w, just to see what I'd get...

Here are some things I've been doing lately. The first one was chosen for the daily dozen on Your Shot at National Geographic on Oct. 25. It's good to see that everyone is still turning out some great photography.

Love the sunrise, jimber. Most people don't show up until just before the sun comes up and miss the "pre-game "show. Like the bunting and owl too.
