A damaged photo of my grandmother at age 14 (1916) and a digital restoration - one of my first attempts. I'm open to learn more about the field there must be some techniques I know nothing about.

Very lovely young lady!!!!
Great work salvaging the photo.
I don't mean to diminish your work, but restoration entails rebuilding the image, that means replacing the missing parts. I have seen this done, it takes great skill and many hours, many layers and a lot of pixel replacing.
I wish I had the skill to do this.
Keep at it you did good with removing the scratches etc.
