I am looking for assistance, suggestions, advice, for a reliable "Wireless Flash Trigger set" that will work properly with my Nikon D3300 Camera and my alternative brand Flash made to work with my Nikon Camera
I do not want to spend a fortune, but want a product that is reliable and will work properly with my mentioned equipment.

Did you check to see if the "alternative flash" had it's own wireless flash trigger? I have a pair of Alturas flashes I got off Amazon and they came with their own set of trigger/receivers.

Can you give us a name to this alternative brand flash? Unlike the higher-end models, the D3300 doesn’t have the ability to control a remote flash from the pop-up, but you should be able to trigger one if it has a slave that recognizes a pre-flash.

Looking for TTL or manual?
I like my Phottix Odin but they aren’t cheap. It does TTL but o hardly ever take it off of manual. I can remotely control the power from the transmitter.

For quite a bit less money, Yongnou makes several models, including some that do TTL. A lot of people here like them.

If you get radio triggers that support TTL metering, the camera and flash will communicate as if the flash was on the camera's hot shoe. They will still do TTL metering and flash compensation can also be used. Those triggers are brand specific. I use a PocketWizard Mini-TT1 on the camera and put the flash on a PocketWizard Flex-TT5. They transmit both the PocketWizard standard and controlTL channels simultaneously. If you get fire only triggers, you will need to put your flash in manual mode. The PocketWizard Plus II, Plus III, Plus IV, and Plus X are trigger only units.

I use a Flashpoint R2. Link is here....about $80.00 and another $50 for the transmitter.

You need to be more specific about which flash you are using. Normally Yongnuo has earned a very good reputation for quality and consistency. They make simple trigger, and offer a TTL one as well.

I use a set of Yongnuo YN-622Ns to set off two flashes and haven't had any problems. They work fine in Manual or ITTL modes. You can get a transmitter and receiver for a decent price. See link below;

As mentioned by others - Youngnuo. I used to use their 603 flash triggers with three different brand flashes. Nothing fancy, just triggers a flash reliably. Then I bought two of their 685 flashes and a controller for those. They are great quality for a low price.

I would check out Godox, available on Amazon and at B&H. It's also known as Flashpoint at other outlets. The compact TT350 flash and X1T trigger are available for Nikon, Canon, Sony and Fuji systems. Both very good quality and not expensive.

Yes I should have clarified. Since I bought mine at Adorama, I referenced Flashpoint. FWIW, the trigger can also be used with their line of studio monolights.

I just bought a Vello Freeware Fusion Basic for my Nikon 5500. The kit had a receiver and transmitter for $28.00. Got it from B&H.
Have not had a chance to use it, looking for another cable to work with my Sunpak 555 flash.

Hey,

I use the Yongnuo 622c trigger and 685 flashes. They have a Nikon version of the trigger. It is inexpensive and works.

Regards,
Willie

I was going to suggest the Odin, too. The price is far more affordable than Pocket Wizard.
