So, I am thinking about starting a new long term portraiture project and wanted to know if anyone out there in Hogland knows about any Photographic project planning apps.

Best project management is ....set your alarm for early. Get out there and push, be reasonable with your prices untill you start falling over yourself rushing around and always, always spend less than you earn. Keep a very close eye on your balance sheet!

I've been self employed since 2001, my wife since 2003. Having a business plan appeals only to those 'teaching' you how to 'start'. 10% common sense and 90% guesswork. The plan is....fill your day earning money!

This is a volunteer gig, so I want to use my time in an efficient way.

I have spent a moment looking at some of the software both jerryc and frankraney have sent along. In doing so, I realised that I asked for the wrong thing. I do not need Porject Managemt at this time, so much as Photographic Project Proposal software.

Chefneil,
If such a thing is available it would probably come from some of the Proffessional Photographers on here. You might have to broaded your search (lose Photographic).
Most governments have a 'funding' project type proposal for such things as environmental studies and info as to what studies are currently available for funding, I would imagine similar things in Sociology and Medicine etc would show up.
Some sort of adaptation (Titles and sections) might give you a DIY project proposal.ie What you intend to do...how you intend to do it....What costs and equipment you require ....where you are doing it and what you hope to achieve....with data etc What (if any) similar studies have been done (Ref et.al) and who would benefit from this new information (Specifically or Generally)

You could also look at University websites....My BA included a final year 'study project' aimed at a Hypothetical 'Funding Organisation'.

Is that more what you had in mind?

Microsoft Project is the standard for all industries. It's used for everything from individual projects like yours to major bridge-building. Bit of a learning curve, but once you get there, it is the best. It has a ton of features, but you only need to know a handful to use it in the way you or I would. I have used it for many years. If you want more information about it, you can send me a private message. >Alan

Project is available for Mac. The Mac version is not installable. You use it online; $7.00 per month. At that price, it's a no-brainer.

I once had a client say to me in all seriousness, "In my mind, it's a no-brainer."
