What fantastic captures, Allen! I'd give anything just to find a nest!
Thanks. This opportunity literally came to me. I have a small scruffy looking (I hesitate to call it) tree next to the porch on my house. I was sweeping the porch and noticed a hummer flying in and out of the tree. Then I noticed the baby bird. Of course I quickly retrieved my camera and carefully moved as close as I could get. The whole scene was very fascinating. After I noticed that they were both gone—I moved my feeder to this tree. Alas, it has not been used since. I can often hear the hummers—the males are very aggressive and territorial—but way too quick for me. They never visit the feeder—I think they have other interests.
