Over the past thirty years, I have spent many, many hours...photographing our 'homestead' chickens. Now, for the past eight years, I have been concentrating, on the 'capturing' of images...that illustrate the natural and aggressive 'behaviors' of {'Gallus gallus domesticus'=chicken}!
And yes indeed...I have plenty of 'big-gun' cameras and lenses, to get the job done-(in a respectable manner)~but, I'm always on the hunt, for a 'smallish' point and shoot camera, that I can carry with me at all times! When it comes to capturing chickens in their natural state...'Carpe diem', becomes the 'catch' phrase!~ Warmest regards and I hope you enjoy the 'A-C-T-ion'!_ 'CyberDave'
Nice shots of ugly birds.
They look like little dinosaurs.

Great shots. Not familiar with that breed of chicken. You must be a great lover of chickens. Personally I love them fried, southern style.

I’m a chicken owner too. But I have to say, these birds are definitely different from what I’ve seen. Look aggressive.
But these birds must be in the heart of the owner
They look similar to the game hens my neighbor used to raise and fight. I guess the colored leg bands is your way of adding name tags (ID) bands. That is the great thing about photography, we all like shooting different things which makes sharing photos even better!

I agree. I have seen the most interesting photos on this forum, that I could have only dreamed of capturing myself.

My thoughts exactly. I believe all birds evolved from the carnivorous dinosaurs. And they're waiting for their chance to rule again.
Great set, love the stop actions.
Great shots, looks like Christmas dinner on parade.
First thing I noticed about the entire images was how beautiful your point-and-shoot camera captured these chickens, which I believe was your whole intent....I applaud you for that. I'm not entirely sure how many digital point-and-shoot camera's I've used, but I vowed never to pick one up again!!! LOL!!! I'm old school and to use a digital point-and-shoot, was the worst experience I've ever had in my picture taking hobby....no matter what I took pictures of, even plastic model airplanes.., seemed like I would take over 2 hundred and have only 10 perfect pictures because of camera shake. Don't get me ranting on trying to take a picture of a bug or an aquarium fish with one.....
