I have an Olympus OM-D series 4/3 camera and am wondering if any lenses other than the Olympus branded are compatible with this body?
Thanks

I am using Olympus lenses on my Panasonic GX8. They work well. Panny lenses should be OK with your camera.

Is it 4/3 or m4/3? The model name/number will tell us.

Any lens will work with the proper adapter.... Unless you are wanting AF on the lens.bw79st, the OM/D is a M43rds series camera.

Quite right! I haven't used my E-3 in so many years I forgot that the old DSLRs were not OM-Ds which is a reference back to the film OM models.

Panasonic M4/3 lenses should work. However, they have the IS function built into the lens, Olympus has it built into the body. Check to see how to set the IS switches.

If you will be buying an adapter and will be using manual lenses on your camera I am a collector of old early Pentax Takumar lenses, they are excellent and for the most part in collector condition, meaning they are remarkably clean and in good condition considering their age. I have over thirty of these lenses many which I am going to sell because I have duplicates, as well as a couple of other collectibles. The are all prime ranging in focal lengths from 28mm to 200mm and then I have a couple of the legendary Vivitar Series 1 70-200's that I will sell. If you are interested send me a PM and I will let you know what is available and send pics of particular lenses and pricing.

I see you did not do your homework. Olympus mirrorless cameras use Olympus and Panasonic lenses. Many other lenses can be used with an adapter but I would recommend that you stay with the lenses made to be used with your present body.

The lenses built for any 4/3 camera can be used on any other 4/3 camera without needing an adapter. That is part of the specification.

Sorry, but I have to disagree with The Shoe. 4/3 lenses will NOT fit an M4/3 body without an adapter.

Or to say it differently, any 4/3 lens will fit any m4/3 body with the adapter. There were also some Sigma 4/3 lenses (I own one), and they will work on any m4/3 (using adapter) or 4/3 (no adapter needed) camera.
But, m4/3 lenses cannot be used with any 4/3 body. It only goes one way.
Knowing the camera model would help here. I'm curious which OM-D body the OP has? I have an E-30 and an E-M1, so one of each. Google "Olympus E-30," and notice google thinks it has a medium format sensor. UHH is more accurate than google!
