Blame the state supreme court for outlawing the death penalty at that time. Otherwise, this killer could've faced his due execution as warranted then.

I guess I'm different in what I think.

We want to think of him as evil incarnate and put him out there with people who are not like us; people who deserved to go to Hell.
We say that we'd never do what he did, we are different.

No we aren't.

We are all just like him in that we have the capacity to be as evil as he was and if it weren't for the restraining hand of God...both Manson and ourselves would be 1000 times worse.

Yes, Manson deserved Hell but so do we. We are all rebel sinners who deserve justice and if the story ended there, it wouldn't be a happy one but there is more.

God saves sinners.

Yes, the just God is also the merciful God who saves sinners in spite of their condition.

I don't know Charles Manson's eternal destiny for sure but I do know mine if it weren't for a loving merciful God who's long-suffering and faithful to save even folks like me.

If you do, or if you have a friend or family member who thinks that they are "good to go" because they "aren't that bad" and "try their best" please give this some thought...talk to them, let them know that God doesn't grade on a curve.

We measure the evil of CM by his deadly actions against others. But for him and his evilness several humans would have continued living.

Your assertion cannot hold water: "We are all just like him in that we have the capacity to be as evil as he was."

Nearly all of us have the capacity for goodness, and we follow our inclination in that way, intending harm to no one.

CM found an outlet for his profound hatred of life, by his violence against innocent others. He became a monster lacking humanity. Nobody anywhere has the capacity to find forgiveness for this murderer.

Did you ever realize it don't matter what we or how we measure. It not our decision.

Did you ever hear of this.
whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it. So if you tell a lie it equal to murder.

James 2:10

I said at the beginning of my statement that it's our nature to say that, didn't I?

I guess what you think about good or evil depends upon what you start with as your authority doesn't it? How do you ultimately decide what is good or evil, right, or wrong? Is it just whatever a person thinks is so? Is it whatever more than one person thinks; aka agrees on?

My ultimate authority is God. He sets the rules. He pointed out the things that I mentioned so if you have a beef, it's not with me...it's with Him.

Oh I beg to differ....Christians are called to forgive him. We are called to forgive him because we have been forgiven ourselves and we have the capacity to do so.

This is where the phrase "There, but for the grace of God, go I" is applicable.

Well, just to clarify, it's not equal, it's just that both are sins, and both make us guilty before a just God. I didn't want anyone to jump in and start yelling about that.
