Yes - he had just had a mud bath! This was at the edge of a small river near Kruger National Park in South Africa. He was a young male and this was a "bluff charge" - just testing us and strutting his stuff. As soon as he saw us he started flapping his ears and puffing up. This is when he first spotted us. We were sitting still, watching this family group walking by.
