It's that time of the year in Wisconsin when deer hunting reigns supreme.
Last week, came into the kitchen, looked out the patio widow and this is what I saw.
I don't think that 12 point buck was hitting on my giraffe, but who knows.
It is the rut season and he looks ready.

This is the best way to hunt. You get the trophy and the deer can go on enjoying his life....Rich
Rutting bucks are known for doing the unusual at this time of year. Fortunately, this big fella was among friends... at least for the moment. Wonderful capture.
Great set, all I have in my back yard are does and fawns.

bigwolf40, I did it for many years with the rifle. Instead of going bang, I now go click. Thanks for stopping by.

CanonShot, thanks for stopping by and glad you enjoyed. I thought Wisconsin had a lot of road deer kill until I had an assignment in PA where I had to drive from Pittsburgh up to Erie. I couldn't believe the deer road kill I saw on I-79.

Bultaco, glad you enjoyed and thanks for stopping by. Yes does and their fawns are regulars but this big boy was a surprise.

I-79 is a distant second in road kills to the statewide stretch of I-80 from the Ohio line to New Jersey... basically the dividing line across the upper 3rd of PA. Most of us dread any trip on I-80 during the rut and the two-week rifle season starting the Monday after Thanksgiving. I don't remember what the insurance statistics are for this period of time but the number of car/deer collisions are outrageous. I've heard that about Wisconsin, too.

Those are some 'lucky shots' that many of us would like to be able to get,
and I tend to pretty much totally agree with bigwolf40's comment above.
I'm sorry if I offend any hunters out there, but it irks me when I see all
those little hunter's cabins/outhouses setting up on poles in an area of
deer habitat; where 'hunters' sit and wait for a 'trophy' to walk by so they
can shoot it.
That, to me, isn't hunting! Hunting is when you're down on the ground
and 'hunting', not sitting in a 'hide-out' waiting for your victim/trophy to
simply walk by.
Sorry for the rant!! Again, I really like the pictures and that opportunity
you had to get those 'shoots' . . .
