NIK with LR & PS upgrades

Nik should work the same in either program since you are using Nik, not PS or LR.

A couple of weeks ago I upgraded to 2017 in both. Eventually I had a shot that I wanted in BW, which I use in PS. When I tried to combine the layers, PS quit. Did it again, and it quit again. Without asking for expert help, I uninstalled NIK and reinstalled it. Same problem.
Then I used NIK in LR, which I had never done, because I use PS routinely for adjustments after the basics in LR. It worked.
Thoroughly confused, I contacted Adobe. Ultimately, after installing the newest PS (2018), he learned from a supervisor that the new (2017 & 2018) PSs no longer support NIK. However, according to a friend who has been in contact with the company in France that bought NIK, sometime in the Spring of 2018, the upgraded plugin will be available.

Google Nik Collection
NOTE: Google no longer supports or updates its Nik plug-ins for current versions of Photoshop on current operating systems and hardware.
Customers may experience incompatibilies (including freezing and crashes) using Nik plug-ins. We recommend uninstalling problematic plug-ins.

Nik still works in LR, at least the last time I used it, it did.
