We both agreed that to be a landscape photographer in Iowa a person needs to be very creative. We have no oceans or mountains so one needs to look harder for landscapes to photograph. I’ve kept that in mind every time I go out searching the backroads for photo ops. I’ve done a lot of gravel travel in the last few years. Your photos here show that these scenes are out there. Nice work.

Thanks Walt and I fully agree on the difficulty of landscapes on the plains. This time of year is especially difficult between the falls leaves and the first snows. But they are out there and just need to be sought out. I too wander the backroads every weekend looking for these shots, so much more to see when one slows down to gravel speeds and looks around.
