A friend and I went on a couple day photographic road trip to the western part of our state. Loaded 1200 photos when I got home into the computer. I am liking this one, and feel it kind of looks like a painting. Was shot at 1/1250 with a aperature of 6.3--so I am surprised it is as in focus front to back as it is. The tongue showing on the deer in front was a surprise when I saw it.

The dusting of snow and the yellow grasses make a really pretty setting for the deer. They've arranged themselves into a very pleasing composition!

Nice shot, she's licking her chops so it has to be good.

Nice composition and use of the rule of odds.

You did a great job on this. You are correct, it does look like a painting. If you take the time it is also at least 2 more photos by cropping this one.
Thanks for sharing.

I do get a sense of a painting. I really like the positions of the deer. You caught 4 deer and each is nicely posed-heads up and eyes visible. I think the colors are very pleasing, too.

I guess beings you asked I will add a couple more.
These are mule deer, who seem very curious and will stand and look at you [posing nicely] whereas white tail deer just put their tails in the air and run away.
