Oh, I don't know, maybe I read something into this that was not intended... "See, now ... that's what's keeping you Blurry-eyed, Blurry ... fiddling all the time with THREE sets of Controls ...."

Setting our barbs aside, I don't think that you get images like the ones below on program mode, I pay close attention to depth of field in all of my photography, in moving nature shutter speed is extremely important, I just don't see Program mode as being able to consistently produce good results for the type of photography that I do, be it macro, birds in flight, or portraiture of family members.

But, to be a good sport about it, maybe I will give "P" a try this Thanksgiving.
Oh, I don't know, maybe I read something into this... (show quote)

Very nice, Geffory .....

That's okay ... you're doing fine, as you are ....

Although, I do stand by P ... as a great mode to use in a pinch (and, as a default) ....

The last one's clearly an eagle ... what about the other two, though ... are they both diff kinds of herons, or no?

Monkeys, huh? Blue Herons?

Where ARE you, anyway, Andy?

Hey Chris I'm in Costa Rica. Playa Tamarindo on the North Pacific Coast in Guanacaste. Amazing place to live. Have a look at FB Casa Smilin' Dog our home. There are Egrets, Pelicans, Raccoons, Terns and fab sunset almost everyday. The light is fantastic too. Pura Vida.

Brown Pelicans, huh?

Amazing - how you just got them stopped in flight, like that ....

Cranes, huh? ... Funny ... I didn't see any bulldozers ....

I think they're related to herons, somehow, aren't they?

So who won the fight, Blurry?

No fight, it is actually a playful dance, that is one image in a series of images, I am not so sure that they are related to the Heron family but I never researched it either.

A Dance, huh? ... Wonder what music they were dancing to ....

I haven't researched it, either ... but, it wouldn't surprise me, in the least ....

I'll have to look it up in my John Deere book .... covers cranes, tractors, etc.
