Anyone have any experience with a Tamron 28-300 on a full sized Nikon DSLR? How is it?

If it's anything like a Canon 28-300, it's heavy.

NO, my choice was the Nikon version of this lens. It is sharp through out the zoom range and has a solid feel. I actually use it on the Nikon D500, this way I am only using the center of the glass which is the sharper part of any lens. It holds up fine and I have found that my used Nikon lenses will sell for more than it's third party counter part. Actually it's more like with Nikon I get about 20-35% more for my used Nikon's compared to the same third party glass. So, in the long run, third party glass costs the same as Nikon, Canon, and Sony glass. In the long run, your better off with name brand lenses.

You asked about Tamron using full frame no experience here with full frame but the 18-400 Tamron with my D500 works well and so far I’m happy with it

Tamron has a sale going on with their f2.8 lenses you would save over Nikon if your looking to purchase the three Trinity lenses if you can afford Nikon lenses that would be my first choice

That's a very handy range. I have the Nikon version, and It's always on a camera.

Yes, I've been using the Tamron 28-300 on my Nikon D610 with excellent results. Used with proper techniques, I sure you will not be dissapointed and it's smaller, lighter and less expensive than the Nikon. Here's a photo taken with that lens and the D610.

Is that the sea wall in La Jolla? It sure looks like it, (even if it is not).
