I don't usually do landscape so I didn't have a tripod with me but when I saw this even with the grey sky and no sun, I stopped jumped out of the jeep and took this shot of Cheaha Mountain in Alabama. Most of the foliage had already fallen and many trees were already bare but it wasn't too bad here.

Excellent capture. But I never envisioned Alabama as having mountains of this size. I pictured Alabama as being totally flat.

Great photo of a beautiful area. I have a sunset photo taken from Cheaha State Park several years ago. Thanks for sharing.

Cheaha Mountain tops out at 2,407'. It is close to the southern end of the Appalachian Mountain chain. We also have "sugar white" sandy beaches in Gulf Shores, Ala.

Thanks FiddleMaker. Yes we do have a few mountains at the north end of Alabama and some pretty good size hills in the middle area.

Thanks for looking jpintn. It's a pretty cool place to visit and the forest has a few pretty good jeep trails to ride on, which is the main reason I was there.
