Hello hoggers.
On a photo shoot last weekend I was playing around with the creative mode on my Lumix FZ1000. I shoot in RAW and when I downloaded the pictures, the creative mode flashed on the screen briefly but then reverted to the RAW file. I had this happen once before when shooting creative mode on my Lumix ZS40. Before sending the question to UHH on that occasion I read a response to another posting that solved the problem: changing the preferences in LR to show JPEG files beside the original RAW file. It worked. I assumed when shooting in creative mode on the FZ1000 that the shots would also be in JPEG and would show beside the RAW files. I checked the preferences on LR and it still has the checkbox marked for showing both files. Any suggestions as to why the creative mode shots are not showing up? It doesn't do much good to try creative mode settings if I can't view them! Thanks in advance for your help.

Could be your "assumption" was off, camera needs to be set to JPEG+RAW? Don't know the camera. But, if the LR box is still checked for JPEG and RAW to show up, the JPEG and RAW would both show up.

Could be but I generally have the settings only for RAW, not for RAW + JPEG. I am 95% sure I had the other camera set just for RAW but when I switched the setting to creative mode, it produced JPEGS.
I believe that LR only shows the raw files when you check raw + JPEG. It downloads the JPEGs but only shows the raw. I could be wrong but I remember discovering this as a significant difference from how Aperture, RIP, handled raw + JPEG pairs. Try this. Download the raw and JPEG images into separate folders, (name them /raw and /jpegs). After you have downloaded the images to separate folders you qthen import the raw and JPEG images to LR separately with two different import sessions. You will be able to see the creative effects on your jpegs by doing that
