Was out waiting for the wild horses to come out to play so I decided to take a few shots of the cactus to kill the time!
Love me some saguaro cactus. It's my favorite. Nice shots. Cheers.

Once, when I worked at a Travel Agency, I was able to go on a Familiarization trip to Palm Springs. We had some site seeing tours to see what all was to offer in the area and I remember one tour specifically. It was a 4X4 tour into the desert mountains. I was totally amazed. Our guide showed us a cactus nicknamed a Teddy Bear cactus because it looked somewhat soft due to the many quills. That could not be farther from the truth. He told us that you NEVER want to get a thorn in you, and if you do, you better have a pair of pliers on you. It seems because there is so little water/rain fall in the area, if stuck, the plant sees you as a source of water and instantly embeds itself in you. I can't find anything on the internet to collaborate that story.
One thing he showed us was pretty cool. He found a Mesquite plant and told us of the power of the plant. Everything has an aura and power around it and he demonstrated this by telling one of the more slight females to make a "O" with her thumb and first finger. Told her to try as hard as she could to not let him pry her fingers apart. He did so very easily. Next, he told her to cup her hand around one of the branches and leaves, but not to clamp down on it and to make the "O" again. This time, he could not pry her fingers apart. She told us he was trying very hard and it wasn't fake. She was one of my co-workers, so I know she wasn't a plant (pun not intended, but is funny). Was a fun trip. Cheers.
