Spent time recently in Forth Worth visiting daughter/family. Had no idea there was an airshow at the Alliance Airport about 3 miles from my location. Shot photos over 4 days from the back yard from 2 to 4 PM. A great schedule cause the grandkids we were babysitting napped from 1 to 3:30.
Based on googled info regarding the Blue Angels, planes were flying at a velocity between 300 and 600 knots.
Smoke on photos were taken from a distance of about 1.5 miles.
Four plane photos at a distance of about 0.5 miles.
Close up about 1000 feet.
It was a thrill.
I shot photos with a Nikon D5300 and Nikon 200 - 500 mm.
You have a great record of the Blue Angles. Nice shooting and a great way of doing it.
Thanks Joe D. Glad you stopped in to take a look
Awesome...Great shots almost looks like you were in the are with them...
B-U, even though I shot the BA's four days in a row and they performed the same/similar routine my heart raced every time the planes made a move in my direction. Got hundreds of photos :-). Thanks for your kind comments.
Hey Jerry/Merrytex, many thanks. Was concerned about results as all shot were taken hand-held. Not sure if I got lucky or acquired a skill. Gotta admit the lens worked well as the light was good, really good.
Regards
