I like it when you get both Windows and Mac versions for the same price. I know a lot of us have both systems, and who wants to pay double? For one day only, you get both for $59.

OK silly question, but can we compare Luminar to Photoshop?

That's almost exactly what I was going to ask. I've watched a few videos and it looks almost too good to be true, plus, $59 sure beats the heck out of $120 that I pay now for LR. Does anyone that uses it chime in as to how they like it.

It looks too easy in the infomercials.

Sorry, but Adobe does not allow that.

I strongly suggest you do a trial first , especially if you are on PC. 2018 was released yesterday with a ton of issues especially on PC. There is a support page on Facebook and it is blowing up.

This thing is way overhyped. Comparing it to lightroom is silly as it had no catalog or directory mode as far as I can see. It's more of a photoshop clone.

I saw a demo of it done by Don Smith, who seems to be a fairly well-know photographer with commercial affiliations, and who does some nice work. The program seemed to be based on presets to a large degree. All of the MacPhun/Skylum products are designed to be quick and easy: I use Tonality and SnapHeal. I have not used Luminar but I do believe, based on the presentation, that it is designed as a Photoshop replacement, as is SnapHeal (takes out things and creates blur). I did notice that much of the work Don created on the program had an over-saturated look to it, but that seems to be what the buying public wants these days.
