One other thing... Where I live cars or trucks can't proceed by a school bus in the opposite lane while children are being dropped off. Also children are required to cross the road in front of the bus before traffic can resume moving. It looks like they do it correctly where I live.

I drove the kids to school and back for a few years. We had to activate the Stop Arm (with a stop sign) at every station, and activate our flashers.
There was also an arm that was attached to the front bumper. It's purpose was to force the kids far in front of the bus when crossing the road.
The truck in the video was an European cargo transport vehicle. And all the European school buses (as well as Canadian and American) are Chrome Yellow.
I would guess that the bus in the video was a local city bus. I'll bet that these kids learned a good lesson!!

Not so many years ago that child would have been flattened!
My guess is that this is not an official school bus.
In Canada, as in many other countries, a school bus would be yellow
and would have flashing lights that require traffic in both directions to stop.

I don't think that was a school bus. I think that stopping law is nation-wide.

That was one attentive driver!
I can't believe a truck that large could stop so fast. He should get an award from the trucking company.

They certainly did! "If we run into the road without looking, traffic will stop for us."

I believe this happened in Europe.....I don't know if they have similar rules.
The kid was not careless. The school bus is supposed to keep the red lights on until the kids have cleared the roadway. The bus was leaving with the kids in the ,oddle of the road!

I see nothing that says school bus, no markings nor any flashing lights on the back. Do you? Maybe I missed something?
