US trip 2:- New Orleans street pics.
So many photos of New Orleans, a photographer's dream - colour, character everywhere.
I loved NO, really enjoyed our week there.
Bourbon Street is a mess. Laying new pipes all the way up the main tourist drag. So much more to see than Bourbon Street though, we stayed in Marigny Fauberg, a good interesting walk from the French Market and the French Quarter.
The best view of New Orleans for me was in the rear view mirror.

Haha..so you didn't like it? Why...too hectic?
Nice photos, Hope you enjoyed our wonderful city! There's no place like it. Most people either hate it or love it. Of course it is the wrong time to visit Bourbon St. with all it's renovation but it needs it. This city is so full of history. It truly is a photographers dream city! I hope you were able to see and experience some of our areas which don't get so much publicity. Our locals really know how to cook and entertain!

Enjoyed these very much, Jude. I lived there for 8 months, back in the seventies. I especially loved Bourbon St (used to play there).
Earl.
[Hi David, we did love your wonderful city. We had the first 2 days in an airbnb at Arabi. No tourists there, we did a lot of walking and went to a local bar. Loved it. Stayed 4 nights at the Royal Guest House in Marigny, which was perfect. I regret we didn't see any great blues, probably went to bed too early.
Loved all the shotgun houses and colour. The people were great, and we caught the trams around. You are right, it is a unique city. Doing well to recover from Katrina the best they can I feel.

I remembered that you lived there Earl, I thought of you when we were there.
New Orleans is a mecca for street photographers. Some great shots. Wish I knew you were in town we could have met up for a photo shoot.
Let me know next time.

Don, thanks. A photo shoot would have been fun. Nearly all my photos are taken as we wander around, Paul is not into photography and is fairly patient with me as I lag behind taking photos. Not ideal, but I do my best.
