Any advantage using the EN-EL15A battery in a 7200?

Curious to see if purchasing a new Nikon battery, is there any advantage in buying a EN-EL15A over the regular EN-EL 15, for use in a D7200.
Thanks
Duane

No "advantage" at all, but it will work just fine.

I believe the "A" battery is newer and has more capability in cold temps. I have an older D5200 and use the two interchangeably.

The reason they came out with the 15A is because it holds a charge longer than the 15. There were a lot of complaints about the 15 not lasting long enough before requiring a recharge. I also have the 5200.

I must have missed that from Nikon's descriptions. Can you site a valid source to validate your statement?

I might add that I have three cameras that require these batteries, so I am most interested.

I bought the camera refurbished from Nikon along with two extra batteries. That is the explanation I got from them when I questioned them about the different numbers on the two extra batteries.

Sorry DaveO about reposting this but I forgot to direct it to You and I wanted to make sure that You say the info. I bought the camera refurbished from Nikon along with two extra batteries. That is the explanation I got from them when I questioned them about the different numbers on the two extra batteries. By the way The refurbished 5200 came with a 15 and then I have the two extra 15As that I bought. The 15As do last longer than the 15s. Hope this helps.
