Assuming no issues with older apps on newer OS..... you can either "reinstall" them - basically on a Mac that means copying the application file (a "package file" that contains everything needed to run) or you can fire up your new Mac, connect them both together with an ethernet cable and use the built in migration assistant to copy all your apps and data to your new Mac - If you go to an Apple Store, they can also help or do it for you.

Bingo! What he said. I've done this with 2 iMacs and 2 MacBooks. So easy it should be illegal.

YOu will have to install it, there are many folders etc that are tucked here and there throughout your system when you install any program. You can't usually just drag em over , which your OP title implies. Perhaps you were talking about "moving" the license.. no problem there either,. you get two copies per subscription as many have a laptop and a home machine...

Lastly, all you have to worry about is if the new OS will support CSS6. That can be determined by a google search.

If you have networking of some sort (wifi or wired ethernet) you can use Apple's Migration Assistant found in your Utility Folder.
If you don't have networking you can connect the two Macs directly using an Ethernet Cable.
There are Youtube tutorials but Apple has a Support document specifically for this.
If you have applications on your old computer that are not supported by the new operating system, they will still be "migrated" but their icons will have X's.
Migration Assistant will give you the option of transferring documents, applications, or only one category of files.
Apple has made moving to a newer computer painless.
Enjoy your new iMac!
