I get attached to my art work and photography is the only medium that allows me to sell or give away and keep it too! Fell in love with the darkroom back in the mid 90's, moving onto digital and seeking recommendations. Want a camera I can grow into, but not be lost up front. Price IS an issue and refurbished may be the way to go. Experience? Will focus on macro, I believe. But, need versatility too. I look forward to getting back to a love I abandoned 13 years ago.

Welcome to the UHH. New camera? hmmmmm....I'd point you towards the Nikon D5100...should keep you very busy for some time...that....and a nice macro lens.
Welcome (back).
Your first shot is one of the most colorful B&Ws I've ever seen. When I look at it my mind keeps evoking the deep yellow of the yoke.
Nice work.
Welcome to UHH. I would suggest Sony, both the Alpha and NEX cameras, would be good to consider. Do not think of Sony as a newcomer to photography, they bought Minolta/Konica and kept the engineering deptment of Minolta. Sony is the continuation of the great innovations and quality of Minolta, using a different name.
