The full version of ON1 RAW 2018 was released today. I downloaded it and it automatically installed over the Beta version I had. I have not had a lot of time to play with it yet, but did PP 2 photos and it seems to work quite well. Would like to hear what others who have it think so far. Will provide updates as I use it. Here is a "Print Screen" of what it looks like for those interested that have not used it yet.

I have older On-1 and elements 15
I'm ether going On-1 or elements 2018
Does anyone know does NIK work with On-1 af a filter like in elements
Thanks

I played with the final version last night. In addition to raw editing, I also tried a few things with a jpeg file. When I exited the program, I noted the original file was gone or renamed to xxxcopy.jpg. Does this seem right? Also, the ON1 method for adding watermarks is cumbersome. More to come.....

Vince68,
I just read on DPReview that ON1 cannot handle images shot as RAW + JPEG. When my images are downloaded from my SD card they appear as one RAW and one JPEG file. Can the RAW then be sent to ON1 for PP?
Thanks,

I didn't import any new images, and I shoot just RAW now, but I did have images on my PC that were RAW+JPEG. I have not had a lot of time to try ON1 2018 out as of yet, but the RAW NEF files I processed in it I had no problem with them. That is how images are downloaded from your camera/SD card... you will see 1 RAW and 1 JPEG saved. All of my images from 2013 that were shot as RAW+JPEG have 2 separate files saved.

Not sure about renaming files 47greyfox, the RAW files I PP in the Develop module did not have their file name changed, it is still the original name. I did not export any processed image though, so not sure if that is how the name was changed on you. I did notice though from watching the HDR course that I downloaded from ON1 website, that when you are doing HDR of a bracket of images, that once you merge the bracketed files and ON1 makes an HDR image, it automatically renames the new HDR image file. Not sure if you were in the HDR processing and that is what happened.

I still have to get some free time to work with the program, but so far from what I saw it looks pretty decent. As you said, "more to come" as we use it.

There is a setting that allows ON1 to rename files in several different patterns, or to just use the original name. It sounds like you inadvertently hit one of the rename options. I almost did on one my explorations of the program.

Thx! I'll take a look at my settings. Overtime, I've probably done a lot of inadvertent things. šŸ˜Ž

On-1 and using NIK software plugins as filters including vavasa with the U-Point
How does it work
