It used to be megapixels were more important when pixels were all a standard size. Now, with different format cameras (sensor sizes, etc.), the size of the pixels has to factor into the equation.

I'm not a pro but from my understanding megapixels is not all that important, what kind of glass prime or l series one has on the body i think it is the key up and down the latter. correct me if i'm wrong.

Keep in mind, marketing uses megapixels to sell cameras. But in fact, photography is about the optics.

The $63,000 (U.S.) price is just for the 100 MP B&W BACK.
It doesn't include a camera body.
I presume it snaps onto a Phase One body which you've bought separately.
