Hey folks, I have just been introduced to this section by Linda who kindly suggested my interest in "changing my photos" might be recognized as an artistic approach and less an offense as one poster on the general section seemed to have to some of my pics lol. Can I say...wow, I'm inspired by all of your talent here - post processing is new to me but exciting and I would humbly love to join as a spectator if not a poster if I gain enough experience!

Welcome to the forum, deer2! There are all levels of processing experience (and interest) here, in many different genres and styles. Most folks are more than happy to help with any questions you have. And your "Different look at flamingos" and other postings prove you have a great eye for interesting and unique. So please don't be shy about posting in FYC

If when you say “changing my photos” you mean post processing to make the final product something radically different, that is what I call “digital arts” (my term). If you like that you might want to check out the website “DeviantArt”. Use google to find it then poke around some. There is some really good “digital arts” (my term) work on that site.

If when you say “changing my photos” you mean the usual “spiffing up” via software tweaks after shooting, then there are several sites on UHH that cater to Post Processing, you may want to check them out as well.

If you are looking for technical critique, post here. You will get many suggestions.

And feel free to post your artistic work for comment as well. You will get a wide spectrum of opinions here. But keep in mind, it is your art. What really matters is that you like it.

Welcome. We share all kinds of photos here, from documentary to fantasy, unedited SOOC to elaborate photoshop composites, from all types of cameras ranging from cellphones to vintage film cameras and everything in between. But please don't be shy about sharing. We range from beginners to pros, but we practice collaborative learning, believing that all of us can learn from each other.

PS - Linda linked to some flamingo pictures of yours. Very nice images.

Welcome aboard. You can not go wrong posting your shots in FYC. You will get an honest assessment from the viewer of your submission. From there it is up to you to accept any comments made. Don't be weary of either posting your shots or making comments of others photos.
For me this is one of the better threads on UHH.

Hey neighbor ... I post all my "digital arts" here and have always had nothing but positive comments from our fellow "hoggers". You'll do just fine here. ;-)

Once again, welcome. Now that we have all seen a sample of your work, don't be shy. You will learn more by posting and getting feedback than by simply spectating. Photography is definitely not a spectator sport. Experiment, make mistakes, have successes, Most of us in this section are interested in many facets of photography from gear, to compositions, to composites, to abstracts, to you name it. We also get a fair amount of street photography here even though there is an excellent section that specializes in that here on the UHH. Glad to have you aboard.
