Does anybody know what the difference is between View NX-i and View NX2 software from Nikon? Is one better than the other?
You might want to use google to see the differences... From Nikon itself!

I don't use NX-i but I believe it is more for reviewing files. Here is what Nikon says:
"ViewNX-i software is an easy to use image browser that allows simple editing. RAW image processing can be done with Capture NX-D from within ViewNX-i and movie editing from within ViewNX-Movie Editor, which launches from ViewNX-i."
Capture NX-D is Nikons raw converter and does raw processing. I frequently use NX-D.
"Nikon Capture NX-D is a RAW image processing program designed for use with Nikon NEF and NRW files as well as JPEG and TIFF images. It is available at no charge, via download from the Nikon website."
Capture NX2, on the other hand, does raw processing as well as other needed processing. It is no longer supported so it will not open raw files for many newer cameras. NX2 is a very competent program but it does not use layers so is limited for more advanced editing.
