I can imagine the look of joy as someone unwraps a package and finds an empty tin can.

After Truman Capote wrote Breakfast at Tiffany's he got a letter from them. He thought maybe they were thanking him for the publicity, but when he opened it it said that it's just Tiffany, not Tiffany's.

One of the items not listed in the article is a pair of 10oz paper cups in Tiffany blue with their logo for $600. I’m thinking they would look nice in my guest bathroom.

Not everything from Tiffany's is such outrageously priced. I am not wealthy and have purchased (in the past ten years) two items for gifts that were silver and engraved and affordable on my modest income. The personel of the store were very affable and accomodating in suggesting what I found to be reasonable and appropriate purchases for the occasions.

You need to check out the high-end items at both Neiman-Marcus and Victoria's Secret.

I have to admit that I bought a $10.00 package of pomander just so I could walk around Michigan Ave. in Chicago with my Nieman-Marcus shopping bag. :>) I felt like such a snob. My hubby just laughed at me. I was more surprised that I actually FOUND something for $10 in there.

You will love this story. Several years ago my wife and I were in The Galleria in Houston. I was there on a business trip. We decided to stroll through Neiman-Marcus. We had no intentions of buying anything but Barbara found a purse that she could not live without. I don't remember what she paid for it, but I do know it was too much! She left it in that Neiman-Marcus shopping bag and carried it on the airplane. When we got back home to Charlotte, where we lived at that time, she was looking the purse over and opened a zipper pocket inside. There she found 6 $20 bills folded in that pocket. We could only assume that someone had purchased the purse and then carried it to a party or some function and then returned it for a refund.

Hmmm.............did those 6-$20's bills cover the cost of the purse? Probably not. LOL

I don't think so, but it sure made it more affordable!

Over the years I've catered to the folks that buy the Tiffany sort of stuff. These object display and storage cabinets are my personal cabinets but I've made them in many species. Usually I have tribal art, folk art or collectible woodworking tools displayed. I will happily add a ball of silver yarn to the heap if one comes in this Christmas. lol

I'm still getting my feet wet with studio work. I've abandoned the fabric backdrop.

The perfect next toy for those who have the camera stores in their homes and just can't stand it because enough new photo stuff is not coming out fast enough for them to spend their fortunes on.
