This is absolutely stunning Pat! The color, composition, POV and crop are so perfect! This is one that should be printed on canvas and be up on the wall! So glad you submitted it to On1 and The photographer for critiquing! Proper critiquing always encourages us to keep learning and improving! Thanks for submitting Pat and I look forward to the next one! :-)

Cheers!

Hard for me to pick favorites or bests - that is the challenge for me. This one is part of a year long study of a stand of trees nearby. This was a particular favorite. Initial processing was in Lightroom 6. Also used Autumn presets and pumpkin spice vignette in On 1. Used Pixelmator to clone the gaps in the canopy. This image was critiqued in On1 and The Photographer and received good reviews which really encouraged me. Taken in Manual Mode, f5.6, ISO 100 1/180 with Pentax K3 The image was cropped into a pseudo pano

Thanks. I had it printed on metal and it turned out beautifully.

One more for tonight and then ZZZZZs for me. Best shot? It represents a milestone - stacking of star trails and then big time (for me) layering and masking. The 2 shots and final image: Star trails, taken at intervals over 30 minutes I think, were stacked in Star STax with gap-filling and average exposure +1 stop then worked in lightroom. The layering was done in Pixelmator.
The bike image was cropped. Shot in Manual ISO 100, f 8, 1/350 103mm with Pentax K3. This is one of my grandson's most favorite shots.

#1 is the original and #2 the finished picture, which is now framed with a large thick frame which has the texture of bamboo and going into an art show next weekend (wish me luck! LOL). Manual f6.3, 1/2500 sec., ISO 500, 210m.

I have to head for bed. I will see you all in the morning! Keep those photos coming!

Good set.

"Best" can be pretty subjective.
In this one it is because of the content and the relationship of that content to me.

This is the first time we we had seen our grandaughter. She was about 35 hours old.

Just a snapshot in available light in the hospital.
Canon EOS 5D + EF35mm f/2 lens
1/15 @ ƒ/2.0 and F=35mm, ISO 800, Flash (off, did not fire)
Hand held, and probably shooting aperure priority.
In hindsight I should have kicked the ISO up to 1600 at least.

I have no doubt that this picture will hold that title for quite awhile (subject to arrival of additional grandchildren)! It’s a sweet shot.

Love these. First of all I have never gotten brave enough to try the star trails and stacking! We have a lot of light pollution here. Takes a lot of patience to get it all together. It is wonderful that you used your grandson's favorite photo to create the final picture! It turned out great...so now you have a wonderful picture and a very happy grandson...what else is needed? :-)
