A couple of blooms from 2017 Garden of Disappointment and a couple of bees that didn't climb into the Hummer's Reservoir of Nectar.
.
This is maybe the 5th bloom I've gotten from this Gerber this year.

A Mum has finally blessed me with this bloom, one other, and a bud that might make it. whoopee

A bee that was lured away from the death trap of the hummingbird feeder, but still hasn't kicked the sugar habit.

Another bee that just can't get enough of that sugar fix.

Sherry, nice set.... love your flowers, beatiful colors.... but fantastic macro shots of your sweet tooth bees... especially the first, looks like he's licking it up!!
Excellent pics. I think soon all flowers be a memory and the images we made, unless you live where flowers thrive year round like Seattle or an indoor garden. That's what I miss about Chicago's Lincoln Park.
But then beauty is where you find it.
Sherry, these are nice shots and love #2, Great job!!!!

Thank you, Angela. There were plenty of bees at the platters - they sucked up all they could and then went crazy licking. Their tongues are surely gonna be raw tomorrow!
Reminds me: years ago when my kids were kids, I fixed fudge one night (I make a mean fudge - Hershey's old fashioned). The next morning I got a piece of fudge to have with my coffee. The kids came in the kitchen and told me not to eat it; there was something really wrong with it. They had each gotten a piece when they got up to watch cartoons and licked it to make it last longer. Their tongues were RAW from licking that sugary fudge! I told'em I was sorry, but evidently they had become allergic to fudge and couldn't eat it anymore. That worked for a pretty long time. (Chocolate was not made to share!)

Thanks for looking and your kind comments, Janos!
Flowers don't last year round here, but we do have a long season. This year NOTHING in my garden did well due to the excessive amounts of rain we've had. I think it's been a week or so since it last rained and the plants are starting to look healthier than they have all year. I actually had to water a few of them. But it is getting too close to the end of the season to expect much from them.

Thanks, HOT! The mum was an impulse buy at Costco last year. No blooms were open when I bought it and I didn't realize it was a miniature. But, through a macro lens they look pretty BIG!
Absolutely wonderful shots of your survivors, Sherry!! Your bees gave you some fantastic photo ops, and I'm wondering if maybe the last one didn't find a bit of the fermented stuff by the tousled state of his 'do'.

LOL. He may be besotted. There had to be some reason those idiot bees kept crawling into the reservoir. This guy was licking at the last of some fresh brew, but could have first stopped by the feeder where it could well be fermented. And here it is nearly one in the morning and I still haven't taken that feeder down - or the trash out. We usually take the trash to the road at 2ish, I guess I could remove the feeder then. (All our neighbors love us.)
Thanks for looking and for your kind comments, Donna!
The last one is a delight: like it's slalom skiing but forgot its gear
