My Canon T6i is out riding on a UPS truck tonight heading for somewhere in New Jersey for rest and rehab.

Think of it as ‘going away to camp’ -
The T6i will build a birdhouse, toast s’mores, braid a lanyard and come home soon with a nice tan.🚣🏼

My Nikon LS-2000 scanner just came back from some "spa time" and is now happily back at work.

Thanks guys, I needed that reassurance that it will be OK.

Look at it this way: if it was disabled, at least you didn't throw it away like a piece of trash.

...and you're wondering what to buy while it's away.

I think it's fantastic that you found someone to work on this! (OT - I think it's high time Nikon got back in the scanner game. They might be surprised how much interest would develop [sorry]. They surprised many with the intro of the F6 when the digital sun was quite high in the sky, why not sell a great 35mm film scanner again?)

Interesting, in this forum, a sudden spate of broken/shipped off photo equipment. I wonder if repair places notice cyclic or seasonal surges in customer accidents and clumsiness? I'm part of the latter group- three weeks ago my D810 leaped off a tripod and took my 17-35 with it on a six-foot journey to concrete. I have it back now and suppose repairs were cheap enough at $1,300 total... which doesn't include the D850 on order...

CT, I apologize for interrupting your day with drivel, however, please notice that my opening has given others a chance to relate their thoughts and emotions when faced with having to send their camera, lens, flash or scanner out and away from their care and entrust it to total strangers that they have never seen. I fully understand that while most of us age gracefully and look forward to each new day that God has given us, there are some that cannot help but be sour on the world and take their sourness out on everyone they meet.

I Do hope you have a day filled with the blessings of God and you see great visions through your viewfinder all weekend.

Dave.

[OT] I purchased it from this guy in the first place. He learned to CLA a certain class of the scanners, and now does that as his night job [/OT]

It was gone for eight days. Each day it was gone, I would remind myself I couldn't use it {since 2009 I've been working my way through nearly forty years of media, so that has almost been a part of my routine} - then I'd use tracking number to see where it was before finding something else to do with myself. Then, on Halloween it came back to me!!

Now that you've had your grump, I guess you'll look for some other manger to urinate in.

Dave - you are a generous, thoughtful OP and I for one am glad you posted. Guitarists fret (stupid pun I know) when their favorite guitar is being repaired, pianists are exceptionally picky about who tunes, regulates, and voices their instrument, and so photographers are at a loss when their favorite camera is on its way for repair.
Best of luck! It won’t be long.

LOL...The GAS people are going to love this. "It's time for a second body" to avoid these difficult times :)
