Light room vs. Aurora

Good morning,
I have been using Lightroom to post-edit my photos (all just a hobby). I had a chance to try Aurora for free and like it but I am not sure
they actually offer anything different than LR. If you guys have any experience with Aurora vs. LR (and feel comfortable
publishing it here) help me decide whether it is worth buying it on top of LR. Aurora has no ability to make collections or
store photos, it is a one at a time editing process. They have HR ability.

I am a hobbyist and all the above is just for fun. I am also an intermediate beginner and still learning. If you want to
look at my work (if you have a second) and feel free to critic and help me get better!

Thank you very much.

You are comparing apples to kumquats. Adobd Lightroom is a photo editing program with organizational tools whereas Macphun Aurora is an HDR app that is not even trying to do what Lightroom (or Luminar) does.

You’ve been a UHH member nearly one year and don’t know about posting your images on the Photo Gallery section?

I have been a member for several years, reading the post daily, and I do not know how to submit a photo and do not know where to look for instructions to do so.

Visit the FAQ / Instructions in the Photo Gallery. If you don't know how to find the Photo Gallery ... click the All Sections link at the bottom of the page and select subscribe for the Photo Gallery.

I agree with Ralph. You have the best software in Lightroom, what do you see other software doing for you other than spending money ... ?

Depending on the LR version, HDR is available in LR. Just google the instructions.

Not sure about Aurora been looking at it myself but just wanted to note that your photos are beautiful! Looks like you have had the fortune of traveling to some very exotic places and have a real knack for the craft :D

Thank you deer2ker, that is nice of you. I have been to nice places and would love to keep shooting and learning..
I understood that Aurora does HDR but I don't agree that we are comparing 2 completely different things and hence my question. The main issue was to ask
the few that have had experience with both, are they really different? I tend to think not but I wanted to make sure I am getting the opinion of the experts
too or those that have done this more than myself. I will look at posting here.

Thanks for answering my question.

Eric

I hope the owners of UHH are getting rich rich rich. A google of nothing more than the title of this post generates about 465,000 results in 0.52 seconds ... Item #2 on the list of results is seemingly exactly what the OP requests ...

I read that and it certainly leaves you wondering.. I think the advantage of being able to make collections and store photos are big. I have used Aurora for four days
so far as part of the trial and will not give up my LR subscription.

Well, they offer a lower price and continued service. I have no interest in the LR library feature, so that's a non-issue. LR 6 will be an orphan after Dec 31, and LR CC will cost you $120 a year. I'm going to keep using LR 6 until it no longer works - for whatever reason.

I've avoided LR because of it's library features. Frankly, I have my own way of saving and backing up my photos and the last thing I need is to change it all now. Therefore, I like the idea of a "One at a time," full featured, editor and will give Aurora a try. Thanks for the tip!

The Aurora upgrade is also $59, which is not much, but if I buy and upgrade all of these new programs, it adds up!
